What is offline Youtube and how it works?
The offline youtube feature allow users to download videos when they have network for offline viewing.Sometime you have good Wi-Fi network but don’t have enough time to watch youtube videos online.You may be busy in your work at office or other place.This feature save the videos to your mobile phones or tablet when network is available or you are busy.You can watch them later without buffering.
It is noted that not all videos are available for offline viewing.Those which are available for offline viewing you will see a download icon below it.360P and 720P video resolution are available. 1080P video resolution is not available now.By default videos are downloaded when the phone is connected to a Wi-Fi network but you can uncheck the “Add over Wi-Fi only” from the YouTube Offline settings to work on cellular.You will have up to 48 hours to watch the stuff you take offline.
How to Save YouTube Videos on Android
Step 1: First of all open the youtube app on your android phone or tablet.
Step 2: Search and open the video you want to save.
Step 3: After opening the video,you will see the download icon below the video.Click that download icon.
Step 4: Now a pop up window will open.Select the format you want to save and click OK.
Step 5: Now your download icon becomes blue.It means your video is being saved.
Step 6: You can access to your video by selecting “offline” in the menu.
Step 7: In the highlighted text you will see the % of video saved to your mobile.Once 100% done ,click the video and watch without buffering.

You can not copy offline YouTube videos from your tablet or phone to other devices or a computer because google is using exo file format to save videos. These videos are playable only through youtube app.

Youtube offline mode is best if you don;t have internet connection. When you are connected with Wifi in the office or restaurant then you can easily download/save YouTube video and can be watched later with your friends or family. You can easily download large videos easily. These videos are saved to your mobile phones in a different format. It is not save in mp4 or 3gp format. So you can not copy or save videos to other place. These videos are saved for a duration of 1 week. So after 1 week they automatically get deleted. So you don’t have to remember for deletion. You can save as many videos you want to save but it depends upon your smartphone storage.
